Protecting Our Planet

Given that formaldehyde is in the same category of harmful substances as asbestos, we only use Canadian and U.S.A.-made formaldehyde-free fiberglass as there are varying levels of residual formaldehyde and other substances in “yellow” formaldehyde-based fiberglass. Yellow formaldehyde-based fiberglass is typically less expensive and manufactured by a multitude of North American and off-shore producers of acoustic fiberglass. These are unnecessary and very unhealthy substances to introduce to indoor work, school, and living spaces.

Most manufacturers of acoustic panels and baffles use formaldehyde-based fiberglass and only because it is less expensive and widely available. We simply don’t accept it as we and our children spend the better parts of our days in spaces with acoustic treatment.

In addition to using premium raw materials, we sometimes replace faded baffle systems from old swimming pool installations. We recycle/reuse the old baffles by offering them to organizations like drop-in centres and animal shelters with limited funding.
